The Party In The Pines is a 3-day event featuring a carnival, parade, food & craft booths, street dances and live entertainment. Festivities start at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The event is Sponsored and managed by the Whitmire Jaycees. Indian Creek Shooting/Rifle Range is located in Newberry County on the Sumter National Forest. The range is owned and operated by the U.S. Forest Service. Open year-round. This ADA accessible range accommodates targets at 15, 25 and 100-yard intervals. Shooters are required to bring their own targets and follow all regulations posted at the site. Just 10 miles from Whitmire, SC in Newberry County, The Molly’s Rock Picnic Area, built on the site of an old homestead sits near a massive granite boulder known locally as Molly’s Rock. The picnic area & shelter were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) sometime between 1936 and 1942 on the Enoree Ranger District. It has wonderful shade trees, a historic picnic shelter, and a pond with a wood deck. Enjoy the wide open grassy field and the natural walking trails that let visitors explore Mother Nature.
